“Shivaji High School Shines: Leading the Way from Latur to State Glory in Chief Minister’s ‘My School, Beautiful School’ Contest!”
The “Chief Minister My School, Beautiful School” contest, held under the Bharat Ratna Dr. Babasaheb Ambedkar Adarsh School Scheme, saw enthusiastic participation from schools across the state. Shree Chhatrapati Shivaji High School and Junior College in Sagroli (Tq.Biloli) emerged as the first in the Latur division to reach the state level, showcasing its commitment to education and holistic development.
Founded by Karmayogi Babasaheb Deshmukh, established SSM institution 65 years ago with a focus on educating girls in the state border area. Over the last six decades, the school has played a pivotal role in producing meritorious students in rural areas through its unique and comprehensive activities.
The institution’s approach includes a student-centric curriculum that emphasizes holistic development in arts, sports, skills, technical education, technology, agriculture, environment, and social work. It has actively engaged students in various activities such as Udaan study center for competitive examination preparation, National Student Army, Scout Girl Guide, National Green Army, Student Bank, Adopted parent scheme, alumni association, parent gatherings, Navbharat literacy campaign, plastic liberation and cleanliness campaign, counseling, Meri Mati – Mera Desh, classroom decoration, school beautification, preference for country sports, and more.
The school’s infrastructure supports its diverse activities, boasting grand playgrounds, an indoor auditorium, a well-equipped swimming pool, Dr. A.P.J. Abdul Kalam Science Centre, Kitchen garden and other facilities. The Education Department provided crucial support in implementing these initiatives.
