In a transformative step toward making science accessible to every child, Sanskriti Samvardhan Mandal’s Vedayan Science and Innovation Activity Center, Sagroli (Nanded), in collaboration with Raman Science Centre, Nagpur, launched its Mobile Science Exhibition Van under the banner of Vedayan Science and Innovation Activity Center. This initiative is part of the centenary celebrations of the Mandal’s visionary founder, Karmayogi Babasaheb Deshmukh.
The formal inauguration of the project took place on 15th July 2025, at the Sagroli campus. The ceremony was graced by Mrs. Meghna Kawali (IAS), Chief Executive Officer, Zilla Parishad Nanded, and Mr. Madhav Salgar, Education Officer (Secondary). Mrs. Kawali interacted with students, observed live science demonstrations, and emphasized, “Every student should have the courage to ask questions — that is how knowledge grows.”
But beyond the ceremony, the real excitement began when the Mobile Science Van hit the road.

Learning Beyond the Classroom
Over the past fortnight, the science van visited various departments of the Sagroli campus, engaging students from diverse age groups. The van is equipped with interactive science models, live demonstrations, and audio-visual content, all designed to cultivate scientific curiosity.
Students explored topics such as Newton’s Law of Motion, Conservation of Linear Momentum, Eletromagnatic Induction, Reflection of Light, Parts of Brain, Kinetic and Potential Energy and Every stop became a mini science fair — filled with observation, discussion, and joyful discovery.
A popular feature is the short documentary on the solar system, shown inside the van, making celestial concepts more engaging through local language narration and visuals.

Live Experiments in Action
Leading the scientific engagement was Mr. Nikhil Harne, coordinator from Raman Science Centre, who conducted live science demonstrations using simple, relatable materials. Students were thrilled to witness experiments like cloud formation in a bottle, simple motors, and demonstrations on light and pressure — all of which demystified textbook science.
To encourage home-based exploration, students received a handout of 6 DIY experiments they could try using household materials. This approach helps make science learning continuous, creative, and cost-effective.

Expanding the Reach
Following the campus launch, the van is now scheduled to visit 50 schools in the first phase, covering Biloli, Degloor, Naigaon, and Dharmabad talukas over the next three months. Coordination is being led by Mr. Rajesh Narwade, who is working closely with local schools. Prior written consent and cooperation have already been secured.
To support the campaign, the Vedayan team has also printed informative brochures about the science center and shared them with participating schools.

A Vision for Scientific Temper
The mobile exhibition is only the beginning. Sagroli’s Vedayan Science Center, already home to a Science and Geography Park, is preparing to launch a Science Activity Center under the Rajiv Gandhi Science and Technology Commission soon.
This initiative reflects the SSMandal’s enduring commitment to science
