For two decades, the Sagroli Sunrise Project, operating under the Sanskriti Samvardhan Mandal (SSM), has been empowering athletes from rural areas. With a focus on holistic development and rigorous training, this initiative has become a beacon of hope for aspiring sports enthusiasts who aim to make their mark on both national and international arenas.
Triumphant Performances at the Tata Mumbai Marathon 2025
This year, six athletes from the Sagroli Sunrise Project participated in the Tata Mumbai Marathon 2025 and left an indelible impression:
21km Category: The Half Marathon Heroes
- Bablu Chavan’s remarkable speed secured him an impressive 4th place, clocking in at 1.09.022. This was a testament to his exceptional training and dedication.
- Krishna Bhalerao, completing the course in 1.22.38, secured 22nd position overall and an impressive 5th place in the competitive 18-24 age group.
- Abhishek Jadhav’s performance, with a time of 1.25.25, earned him 25th place overall and 10th place in his age category.
- Umakant Thombare finished in 1.26.50, securing the 28th spot overall and 13th in the 18-24 age group.
10km Category: The Sprinters of Tomorrow
- Pooja Mogalwar showcased her speed and talent by securing 6th place in the girls’ category with a time of 48.53 minutes, and placing 3rd in the 18-24 age group! Her performance is a sign of great things to come.
Dream Run (6km): The Joy of Participation
- Sheetal Bailkar also made her mark in the 6 km ‘Dream Run’, showcasing her dedication with a 6th place finish!
