The event organized by the Krishi Vigyan Kendra in Sagroli, shedding light on the significant contribution of women to society, was indeed a momentous occasion. Senior human development expert Vishala Patnam highlighted the untapped potential of women’s skills in entrepreneurship, particularly in industries traditionally associated with household chores. Chairperson Pramod Deshmukh from the Sanskriti Samvardhan Mandal graced the occasion, underscoring the importance of such initiatives.

The emphasis on women venturing into business and utilizing their skills for self-reliance aligns with the broader goal of empowering women economically. The discussions also addressed the pressing issue of malnutrition among women and children, advocating for the consumption of nutritious food, including fortified grains. The event took a methodical approach to monitoring children’s health, emphasizing direct observation to assess growth.

Shraddha Dhavan’s insights into maintaining high standards in dairy farming, including well-maintained sheds, a conducive environment, nutritious feed, and clean water, provide valuable guidance for women entering this sector. The use of bio-gas from cow dung for energy production was a noteworthy highlight, showcasing sustainable practices in agriculture. Her success story managing a dairy business with around fifty buffaloes exemplifies the potential for uplifting farmers through women’s groups managing larger herds collectively.

Nitin Sharma’s presentation on the Weather Modification and Women’s Development program in collaboration with local organizations in Nanded district, implemented by the Reliance Foundation, adds another dimension to the event. It reflects the integration of technology and community initiatives to drive sustainable development.

Pranita Tai Chikhlikar’s concluding remarks, urging participants to leverage government schemes and emphasizing the importance of women’s active participation in such programs, further reinforces the commitment to women’s empowerment.

The success and credibility of the Krishi Vigyan Kendra were evident in the massive participation of thousands of women from rural areas. Recognizing and celebrating successful women entrepreneurs like Revati Kanagule and Nilavati Dalve added to the significance of the event, inspiring others and showcasing the potential for women to lead in various fields. This event serves as a beacon for future endeavors focused on empowering women and fostering sustainable development in the community.
