“Empowering Agriculture: Women Take Center Stage at Nanded’s Agricultural Science and Vigyan Mahotsav”
The event organized by the Krishi Vigyan Kendra in Sagroli, shedding light on the significant contribution of women to society, was indeed a momentous occasion. Senior human development expert Vishala Patnam highlighted the untapped potential of women’s skills in entrepreneurship, particularly in industries traditionally associated with household chores. The use of bio-gas from cow dung for energy production was a noteworthy highlight, showcasing sustainable practices in agriculture. Her success story managing a dairy business with around fifty buffaloes exemplifies the potential for uplifting farmers through women’s groups managing larger herds collectively.
Nitin Sharma’s presentation on the Weather Modification and Women’s Development program in collaboration with local organizations in Nanded district, implemented by the Reliance Foundation, adds another dimension to the event. It reflects the integration of technology and community initiatives to drive sustainable development.
Pranita Tai Chikhlikar’s concluding remarks, urging participants to leverage government schemes and emphasizing the importance of women’s active participation in such programs, further reinforces the commitment to women’s empowerment.
