A Golden Moment of Pride! Honouring Leadership in Agriculture

In a moment of immense pride and recognition, Mr. Pramod Deshmukh, Chairman of Sanskriti Samvardhan Mandal, Sagroli, has been conferred with the prestigious “Krishi Sanman – Alumni of the Year 2026” award.

For over 15 years, Mr. Deshmukh has played a transformative role through the institution’s Krishi Vigyan Kendra, enabling thousands of farmers across Nanded district to adopt modern agricultural technologies. His consistent efforts have not only helped reduce the drudgery of farming but have also significantly improved crop productivity and farm incomes. Notably, his strong push towards the promotion of organic farming has emerged as a key driver in advancing sustainable agricultural practices in the region.

This esteemed honour was presented on April 13, 2026, during the 38th Foundation Day celebration of the Alumni Association of the Government College of Agriculture, Pune. The award was conferred at the hands of Maharashtra’s Agriculture Minister, Mr. Dattatraya Bharne, in the presence of distinguished dignitaries.

The program was graced by Dr. Vilas Kharshe, Vice-Chancellor of Mahatma Phule Krishi Vidyapeeth, along with several eminent personalities from the agricultural and academic sectors. Adding intellectual depth to the event, Mr. Nanasaheb Patil delivered an insightful keynote lecture on “India’s Economic Development and Agricultural Challenges.”

Held at the Dr. Shirname Hall of the Government College of Agriculture, Pune, the ceremony also witnessed the conferment of the “Krishi Jeevangaurav Award 2026” to Mr. Suresh Khopade, marking another highlight of the occasion.

An esteemed alumnus of the same institution, Mr. Deshmukh’s recognition reflects not only his individual excellence but also his unwavering commitment to rural development, farmer empowerment, and sustainable agriculture.
