EDUCATION

Our institution established in 1959 is committed to implementing a robust academic strategy that emphasizes Access, Equity, Quality, and Accountability. We prioritize the holistic development of students, ensuring they receive a well-rounded education that nurtures their intellectual, physical, and creative potential.

SSM embraces the New Education Policy (NEP) 2020 through its innovative five-fold education model, encompassing:

  • Formal Education: Delivering quality education in primary and secondary levels.
  • Tech Education: Integrating technology for digital literacy and creative learning.
  • Vocational Education: Providing practical skills training for employability.
  • Fine Arts: Encouraging artistic expression and cultural appreciation.
  • Sports: Fostering physical development and teamwork.

This approach has yielded remarkable results in student development, creativity, and academic performance. However, keeping pace with the rapid advancements in technology presents a significant challenge, particularly within the context of SSM’s five-fold education model. Upgrading our existing technology infrastructure is crucial to maintain high-quality education and equip our students with the skills required for the future, while simultaneously supporting our commitment to holistic development through technology-driven creative expression and fine arts.

VOCATIONAL EDUCATION

We recognize the critical role of vocational training in empowering students with practical skills for real-world applications. At the secondary level, students can opt for hands-on subjects such as Plumbing, Carpentry, Home Science, Kitchen Gardening, and Domestic Electrical Work. At the college level, we offer two-year specialized vocational courses in Electrical, Electronic, and Mechanical Technology. To bridge the gap between education and employment, we regularly organize on-campus placement drives in collaboration with reputed industries, ensuring aspiring students have access to meaningful career opportunities.

FINE ARTS

To foster holistic development, we have established the Saraswati School of Fine Arts. Through the “One Student-One Hobby-One Skill” program, students are encouraged to pursue a hobby and develop a skill alongside their academic curriculum. The school provides specialized training in Classical and Modern Dance, Vocal and Instrumental Music, Drawing and Painting, as well as Soft Skills and Spoken English, nurturing creativity and personal growth in every student.

Student’s Voices:
Suchit Muddappawar, Class 9 Student, SSM.
“I used to be quite intimidated by languages and the realm of technology. However, my passion for animation persisted. It wasn’t until I joined the Atal Tinkering Lab last year that everything changed. Our teacher introduced us to animation using block coding, and I found it not just fascinating but also surprisingly easy to grasp. rom that moment on, there was no turning back. I delved into learning other languages and began brainstorming ideas to address the challenges I observed around me. Now, I feel confident in my ability to create anything and articulate my creations to anyone with ease.”

Mahesh Balaji Patil, Class 8 Student, SSM.
“My fascination with games led me to Atal Tinkering Lab, where I learned how to create my own games from scratch—a prospect that excited me greatly. However, my focus soon shifted towards a more impactful project: developing a device to detect soil moisture levels. This idea stemmed from my uncle’s constant worry about water content on his farm. With the device I designed, he can now accurately measure the water content across his entire field, addressing concerns of both low and high moisture levels effectively This accomplishment empowers me to continue creating impactful solutions that address real-world challenges.”
Sainath Jorgelwal, Teacher, ATL
“As a former student of SSM, I didn’t have the opportunity to experience ATL during my time here; instead, I learned about everything during my graduation. Recognizing its immense value for rural children, I joined without hesitation, eager to provide them with opportunities I didn’t have. All of these students lack computers at home, so everything they learn happens in our classrooms. Their dedication is remarkable; they now propose new ideas and innovations, which fills me with immense pride as a teacher.”
