Education has been the nucleus of all of SSM’s activities since its inception in 1959. SSM has therefore put in efforts to impart quality education to the deprived rural children, especially the girls. We facilitate pre-school to pre-university education on the campus for 4000 students through different schools with hostel facilities. Presently 2000 of them are housed in the hostels on the campus. This makes us one of the largest rural residential schools.

A technically educated person can stand on his/her own without desperately searching for the livelihood. Realizing the need of equipping students with life skills and to help them get an opportunity to choose a suitable career, we have initiated V1 (Introduction to Basic Technology) and V3 technical and vocational courses at the secondary level. Similarly HSC Vocational (MCVC) course has been initiated at the higher secondary level.

The Govt. of Maharashatra introduced the Military School with an objective to prepare sound and deserving youth for an entry to N.D.A and other elite Indian defence forces. On its way to fulfil the objectives, the military school at Sagroli is functioning since 1996. Adding colourful feathers to the cap, the students are standing atop, be it a competition in physical training or intellectual tug-o-war.

A follow-up survey conducted by SSM on the occasion of its Golden Jubilee in 2009, revealed that, hardly 10 to 15% of the students go for higher education. The remaining 85 to 90% discontinue their education due to various reasons including their poor economic condition, lack of motivation and proper guidance.

Considering remarkable contribution in agriculture development in the area, Indian Council of Agriculture Research (ICAR), New Delhi awarded the Krishi Vigyan Kendra (KVK) to SSM. The programme started in June 2012, serving the farming community in Biloli, Naigaon, Degloor, Mukhed, Kandhar, Loha,Dharmabad and Umaritalukas of Nanded District of Maharashtra.
